Simon joined the firm in 2025, working within the Competition Litigation team at Harcus Parker. Simon qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales in 2004 and has subsequently joined the A-List of the Dutch order of the Brussels bar. Simon has worked for leading firms in London, Paris and Brussels, as well as working for the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), and in-house, at a leading national chain of vets, during the CMA’s recent vet market investigation.
Legal Expertise
Simon has experience in a range of competition matters in the Competition Appeal Tribunal, including Commercial and Interregional Card Claims I Limited (“CICC I”) v Mastercard Incorporated & Others: Simon is currently playing a leading role representing the Class Representative (CICC) in one of the largest collective proceedings in front of the Competition Appeals Tribunal (Interchange Fees claims).
Simon has practised antitrust and competition law since 2004. He has advised on a wide range of issues, including anti-competitive agreements, abuses of dominance, market investigations, merger control, and subsidy control (including State aid). He has acted on cases before the Competition and Markets Authority, the European Commission, and national competition authorities in multiple jurisdictions. He has also appeared before the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) in the UK. He has particular expertise in the payments sector, having advised on a previous dispute before the CAT at a prior firm between Euronet, Visa and Mastercard, as well as a number of merger control filings in that sector.
