This March, Jenny Morrissey and Emily Fernando from the Harcus Parker team took part in an important project to create a historical record of women in the law.
The First 100 Years project was created to record the progress of women in the law since 1919, when the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act 1919 paved the way for women to become lawyers for the first time. This March, the project held a photoshoot on International Women’s Day to celebrate the centenary of women gaining access to the legal profession. Lawyers from across the UK participated, with events in Edinburgh, Belfast, Cardiff, London and Worcester. A full gallery of photographs taken on the day is available on the First 100 Years website.
Harcus Parker is currently advising several thousand claimants in equal pay claims against a major UK supermarket. Find out more about the claim on our campaigns page: here.
