Commercial litigation

We handle some of the most high-profile, high-value, and complex cases in the UK.

Our clients encompass national and multinational institutions and corporates, public figures, high-net-worth individuals, and large groups of individuals who join together to pursue similar claims.  These cases cover a diverse range of sectors such as automotive, education, energy, financial services, housing, mining, manufacturing and industrials, and travel and hospitality.

We provide strategic advice on disputes with potentially significant political, regulatory and reputational consequences, including advising on parallel proceedings which are inherently complex and often cross-border in nature.

Our experience includes:

  • acting for Fortescue Metals Group, one of the world’s largest mining companies, in a breach of confidence claim against English and American price reporting agencies;
  • acting for a major litigation funder in respect of the enforcement of a Commercial Court judgment worth in excess of US$300 million;
  • acting for thousands of residential mortgage holders in claims worth upwards of £150 million being brought against TSB Bank and a number of closed-book lenders who acquired former Northern Rock mortgages from the UK Government;
  • acting in claims against a number of Bitcoin developers which raise important issues in relation to the application of the law to new forms of digital assets;
  • acting for a group of financial institutions in claims arising out of investments in a hydrogen fuel cell company;
  • acting for the claimants in Commercial Court claims against the global chemicals company INEOS relating to alleged participation in anti-competitive behaviour.

Our work speaks to our ability to navigate significant, high-stakes disputes.  Whether we are representing a multinational corporate or a collective of individuals, our team is well equipped to act effectively on behalf of our clients.
