Ryan Dunleavy joins as head of technology, media and communications litigation

Harcus Parker is pleased to announce that Ryan Dunleavy has joined the firm as a partner. He will lead the firm’s technology, media and communications litigation practice. His hire is part of Harcus Parker’s ongoing expansion as a specialist litigation firm that deals with complex, high value matters, particularly multi-party and group litigation claims. 

Ryan is a litigator with in-depth experience of acting on complex, high value group litigation order and representative actions. He has particular expertise in dealing with claims allocated to the Media and Communications List of the High Court, including data protection and misuse of private information cases. He also conducts disputes in the appellate courts, and before regulators. 

Testimonials provided to Legal 500 describe him as ‘a very experienced and focused professional’ who can ‘grasp multiple and complicated matters and can identify very quickly the most appropriate and best solution in resolving any forthcoming issue and/or problem’.

Background

Before joining Harcus Parker, Ryan was practice head of the media disputes team at another leading commercial litigation firm in London. 

His clients have included consumers, billionaires, high ranking politicians, journalists, those who enjoy having public profiles such as celebrities and sports personalities, and those who seek anonymity such as former secret service personnel. He also acts for corporate clients. 

In addition, he has previously worked in a global litigation role in-house when he was Group Legal Advisor for DMG Media, the brand name of Associated Newspapers Limited, which publishes The Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday, MailOnline, Metro, and metro.co.uk.
