Tania joined Harcus Parker in June 2020. Prior to that, she worked for 11 years in the dispute resolution practice at Herbert Smith Freehills, where she gained extensive experience working on some of the largest financial services and commercial litigation cases and class action proceedings in the UK. Tania qualified as a solicitor in November 2018. She also holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Law from Nottingham Law School.

Tania is part of the competition litigation team, where she works on competition collective proceedings before the Competition Appeal Tribunal, as well as high-value commercial disputes in the High Court.

Most notable recent cases at Harcus Parker:

  • Acting for the class representatives, Commercial and Interregional Card Claims I and II Limited, in bringing competition collective proceedings on behalf of merchants in respect of interchange fees against Mastercard and Visa in the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CICC I & II v Mastercard and Visa)
  • Acting for a major litigation funder in enforcing a judgment worth over US$300m (Harbour Fund III, L.P. v Kazakhstan Kagazy PLC & Ors)
  • Acting for the claimant in a constructive trust claim related to an entitlement to shares in a high-profile cryptocurrency exchange platform (Lyndou v Lazarichev & Ors)

Most notable cases before Harcus Parker:

  • Acted for Lloyds Banking Group Plc in relation to investigations into allegations of fraudulent actions by members of HBOS’s Impaired Assets department.
  • Assisted an American multinational investment bank in connection with the legal advice sought from 20 jurisdictions (including the UK) on the risks associated with the conduct of certain trading activities from its booking entities in the respective jurisdictions.
  • Acted for Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc and its former directors in defending actions brought by shareholder and investor groups in connection with the group’s £12bn rights issue completed prior to the bank’s collapse and government bailout in October 2008 (value over £4bn).
  • Acted for the Tajik Aluminium Company as it sought damages of more than $485m (£308m) in a dispute against nine former trading partners.
