James is a Senior Associate (Solicitor Advocate), working within the Commercial and Competition Litigation teams at Harcus Parker. James qualified in 2010 and joined Harcus Parker in June 2020, from a the London office of an AM Law 100 listed US law firm.

Legal Expertise

James’s disputes experience is extremely broad, including a number of complex, national and international commercial disputes, primarily in the English High Court but also in the DIFC and a multitude of arbitration fora, including LCIA, ICC, ICSID and UNCITRAL. These matters have primarily related to financial services, natural resources, construction / property and intellectual property. James also has high level experience of internal investigations and criminal/regulatory defence.

Notable recent cases include:

• SFO & Ors v Litigation Capital Limited & Ors: Representing a leading litigation funder in one of the largest Commercial Court disputes, involving over 20 parties and assets exceeding £150m across multiple jurisdictions.
• Commercial and Interregional Card Claims I Limited (“CICC I”) v Mastercard Incorporated & Others: Representing the Class Representative (CICC) in one of the largest collective proceedings in front of the Competition Appeals Tribunal (Interchange Fees claims)
