Matt is a litigator specialising in group actions. He has acted for individuals and companies in commercial, consumer, and contentious trusts and probate litigation in the High Court, Court of Appeal and UK Supreme Court. Matt has also acted in a number of high-profile group claims, including the Lloyds / HBOS Litigation and the Arch cru Group Litigation, and as a result has developed a strong understanding of the structural, financial, and procedural peculiarities of group litigation. Matt has significant experience getting cases funded and he has strong links with third-party funders and insurers.
Matt currently has conduct of the firm’s ‘mortgage prisoner’ cases, acting for several thousand holders of former Northern Rock mortgages and, with the firm’s senior partner Damon Parker, leads the firms Energy Litigation cases.
